Veteran coach Jeff Leach hired to grow Axe Bat’s relationships with hitting community
RENTON, Wash. (Dec. 19, 2018) – Axe™ Bat today announced the hiring of Jeff Leach as its first Manager of Hitting, a position created to better serve the rapidly growing community of Axe Bat hitters.
In this new role, Leach will be responsible for engaging the hitting community and deepening strategic partnerships with amateur, college, and professional organizations.
Leach, based in San Antonio, Texas, has coached all ages of amateur baseball, most recently with the 17U South Texas Sliders, an elite travel program that has produced more than two dozen professional draft picks.
“Jeff’s passion for hitting and his data-driven approach to understanding the swing make him a natural fit for this role,” said Jay Helmick, Senior Vice President of Axe Bat. “We’re excited to have him on our team and are looking forward to growing our network of individuals who are passionate about hitting.”
Leach also has worked extensively in player development, both as a private hitting instructor, and as the founder and director of Upper Deck Training in San Antonio, where he administers hitting programs for teams and small groups.
“Hitters are always looking for more bat speed and barrel control,” Leach said. “The Axe Handle gives you both – and that’s an exciting thing to discover as a player or a coach. I’m eager to get started and am excited to be working with a company that is truly passionate about developing the best bat for the swing.”
Leach will attend the ABCA Convention next month in Dallas, Texas, with Axe Bat (Booth #2223) and already has begun demoing 2019 game and training bats. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Twitter at @CoachJeffLeach.
