The PRP Mambas baseball teams have once again demonstrated their excellence in the 2022 season, finishing as the #5 PG ranked 18u team in the country. With a final record of 34-2-1 and four championships in five weekends, it's clear that this organization is dedicated to developing young athletes into top-performing baseball players. Axe Bat is pleased to announce our continued partnership with this elite program for the 2023 season. We will continue to provide wood and BBCOR Axe bats for each player.

Each individual governing body chooses to regulate bats via their own performance metrics; however, all modern metrics are measured identically via the bat performance cannon described above, and values that are compounded by the ratio of outbound to inbound speed measured by the cannon process. Each of these individual metrics are described below.

Each bat sold in the American bat market is required to pass certification testing at a third-party laboratory for its given regulatory stamp prior to production and sale of that bat design.

Bat Barrel Compression

Barrel compression describes the scientific method used to measure the deflection (or flex) of a baseball or softball bat barrel wall, replicating what may happen when the barrel is impacted by a pitched ball. The barrel compression method may be performed in a lab with high precision barrel compression machine, capable of measuring barrel compressions accurate to the ±0.01lb), or performed on-field using hand-held devices, that while not as accurate, are much more portable.
