Frequently Asked Questions

What does USA Softball certification mean?

USA Softball — the governing body that absorbed the Amateur Softball Association — certifies bats to a 98 mph exit speed standard, intentionally lower than USSSA for controlled performance. USA Softball's approved equipment list is the reference for what's legal in USA Softball-sanctioned play.

Can I use this bat in a USSSA league?

A USA Softball-certified bat can technically be used in USSSA play since it meets the lower performance standard. Competitively, though, you're bringing a lower-performing bat to a league where most players are swinging USSSA-certified equipment. A USSSA-only bat cannot be used in USA Softball play — that direction doesn't cross over.
