New high-end wood baseball bats deliver pro quality, innovation, and performance
RENTON, Wash. (May 29, 2019) – Axe™ Bat today announced a new line of premium wood baseball bats engineered for elite performance.
The new Pro-Fit Series elevates every aspect of the bat-making process to give players the most advanced wood bat Axe Bat has ever made, and the same swing experience enjoyed by professional hitters.
Included in the series are two Custom Pro-Fit models featuring the same Axe Handle and barrel profiles swung in-game by 2018 MVP Mookie Betts and two-time All-Star George Springer.

Axe Handle bats have been used regularly in the big leagues since 2015. This year, however, for the first time during that span, Axe Bat is among the brands approved to manufacture wood bats for use in big-league games. Previously, all Axe Handle bats used by pro players were made by licensing partners.
Introducing the Pro-Fit Series
All Pro-Fit Series models start with the finest, hand-split maple billets – the same wood used by the pros.
Unlike round-knob bats that can be turned on dated wood lathes, Axe Bats are manufactured using a state-of-the-art, 3D wood-milling machine that cuts the full length of the bat precisely in a single pass for a flawless and consistent feel.
Pro-Fit Series models then undergo a thorough finishing process, starting with a steel-hardening technique used to compress the wood grain, making it harder, denser, and more durable. Axe Bat’s newly developed Charged Finish, chemically formulated for strength, is then meticulously applied in a seven-step process that fortifies the barrel with a hard, high-performance coating.
All Pro-Fit Series models come with the Standard Axe Handle for more bat speed and barrel control. Select Pro-Fit models also come with the new Pro Axe Handle, which offers slightly more whip and freedom through the zone, and is often favored by power hitters.
