Drill: High Knee
The high-knee drill builds on the movements practiced in the walk-through drill, but increases the intensity with an exaggerated leg lift to begin your swing.
Find the Axe Bat Speed Trainers that are right for you.
While the walk-through drill focuses on timing and rhythm, the high-knee drill is all about intent and generating maximum bat speed.
Start about 4 to 5 feet behind the tee and approach the ball the same way you did in the walk-through drill. Instead of taking your normal stride, however, lift your lead leg so that your knee is waist-high and your thigh is parallel to the ground.
Use this exaggerated movement to transfer as much momentum as you can into your swing. Your goal should be to crush the ball and not get cheated!
This should be a fun drill to practice and, with time, can help you unlock more bat speed.
