If you're a fan of college baseball, you'll want to keep an eye on Auburn University's Mike Bello. The sophomore outfielder is making a name for himself on the field and is poised for a standout 2023 season.
From Oak Ridge, New Jersey, Mike attended Pope John XXIII Regional High School and has always been a fan of the New York Yankees and Derek Jeter, who remains his favorite player to this day. When it comes to hitting, Mike loves the feeling of connecting with the ball and watching it fly. He's found the perfect bat to make that happen with his favorite model, the Axe Strato Flared Knob Bat, which he says feels the most comfortable in his hands.
One of the biggest advantages of the Axe handle, according to Mike, is the increased freedom and control it provides in his swing. The unique design of the flared knob handle feels amazing on his wrists and allows him to swing more freely.
Mike's first taste of D1 baseball was during the 2022 College World Series, and his favorite part was the opportunity to take the field as a freshman and compete for a national championship. He's now focused on returning to Omaha and winning a title in the upcoming 2023 season.
For kids aspiring to play collegiate baseball, Mike's advice is to work hard and surround yourself with smart people. When it comes to hitting, he suggests being on time and making sure you're ready when the ball comes your way.
